Acronis True Image 2018: license activation fails due to blocked network connection to Acronis servers

Issue

Online license activation of Acronis True Image fails if the network connection to Acronis servers is blocked in the firewall software, Windows hosts file, router settings or by Internet Service Provider (ISP).
